Original and ethical cashmere from Turtle Doves

Kate Holbrook began Turtle Doves when she recycled a cashmere jumper into some fingerless gloves and sold them at the school fair.

Since then her company (named after the cockney rhyming slang for gloves) has gone on to create a huge range of snoods, wraps, throws, scarves, baby blankets and much more – all made from ethically sourced, preloved cashmere.

Fans of Turtle Doves include Carey Mulligan, Dame Judi Dench, Keira Knightley and Naomie Harris. Oh, and they won a Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice at the Houses of Parliament in 2015.

We’re lusting after their striking and practical Misty Mauve wrap (pictured above left), from their selection of scarves all made from a patchwork of cashmere squares and also their gorgeous boxed cashmere baby sets of hats, gloves and booties (our fave is the Custard Crumble yellow and beige one, above right).

Even better – if you’ve got an old sweater that you were planning to take to a charity shop, send it to Turtle Doves to recycle and they will send you a pair of fingerless gloves for your kindness! Full details about this amazing idea here.
