Layer up: try one of these thermal tops from Hippychick as a breathable base layer, available in blue or pink and designed not to ride up for maximum warmth.

Get a Grip: it might sound obvious but check the grip on the soles of little shoes. Wellies can often be the worst offenders, with very slippy soles, and the grips on trainers often wear thin with heavy duty playing. You could do the supermodel trick and key the soles up a bit (with sandpaper and a rough blade edge) if they are just cheap wellies, or invest in something heavy duty. Lip Service: protect little lips from chapping with Kiehl’s baby lip balm; a little goes a long way …

Cosy up with a mug of Dreamtime hot chocolate from Whittards; blended with chamomile and honey for the ultimate chillax…

Be Sledge-endary! Fly down the slopes with an old skool wooden sledge, like this one from Sirch at Little Scout; beautifully designed and sturdy enough to take the whole family…
