Bugaboo collaborates with We Are Handsome

We Are Handsome, the cult swim, gym and resort-wear brand that you see the likes of Katy Perry or Beyonce rocking in that ‘hey – I can carry off patterned lycra ‘cos I’m better than you’ kinda way, have just announced their collaboration with Bugaboo. Yes – really.

You can either buy the whole stroller in this striking design or if you already own a Bee5, Donkey2, Buffalo or Cameleon3 then you can pimp your child’s ride with the accessories. Oh heck, go the whole hog and get the leggings too. You’re worth it.

The Bugaboo Donkey 2 launches this Wednesday

Seven years after Bugaboo launched the iconic Donkey: the clever double pushchair that becomes a roomy single, or vice-versa, they have upgraded the design – so from this week you’ll be able to buy the Donkey2. Yee-Haw!

With Bugaboo, it’s all about the mobility, so no surprise to see that the Donkey2 has new and improved foam tyres and all-wheel suspension – making light work of carrying two kids and all their paraphernalia.

The range of new colourways includes ruby red, blue melange and the gorgeous wave print. And if you owned the original Donkey, one improvement you’ll be really glad to see is the new cover that fits over the side storage compartment (when it is in mono-buggy mode) – which makes the contents less visible and prevents anything spilling out.

As well as the side storage, there is also ample space under the seat, because (in the words of that Mum who placed the epic Gumtree advert) “, the ability to store bread is the most important thing when it comes to buying a pram…” and – as with the original Donkey – even in duo mode it will manoeuvre easily through most shop doors and aisles.

Priced from £1,039 – see the website for more details.

Bugaboo unveil their new high performance rain cover

As a brand, Bugaboo constantly strives to push their designs to the aesthetic and functional limits, so clearly when it comes to creating a rain hood, they haven’t settled for a poorly fitting bit of plastic and velcro to keep junior passengers dry in their buggies.

Bugaboo High Performance Rain Cover in sky blue £52.95

Their High-Performance rain cover not only fits the stroller like a glove and has mesh vents so that your bundle of joy has a circulation of fresh air, but it cunningly also folds down into a handy carry sac – so no more dripping water in the hallway when you come to take it off.

The zipper on this rain hood is in the middle – so you can easily extract a sleeping child without waking or getting them wet. And finally – as if you needed more convincing – the hood itself is made from PVC-free material.

The BugabooHigh-Performance Rain Cover is available for all current Bugaboo strollers in September 2017 in the colours black and sky blue.

In praise of… Pop Art

From acid brights to graphics that bring a smile to your face. We think these are top of the pops.

The Best Buggies for Twins

With George and Amal announcing their adorable boy/girl twins it had us chatting about double buggies – and which option the celeb couple might plump for.

Bugaboo is normally the A List choice, but the Donkey double format isn’t for everyone as it is definitely an urban option and doesn’t hold a huge amount of shopping. However, they could customise the bassinets in Bugaboo’s fab colourways and the format is compliant with seats and carseats also – so they could mix and match. RRP £1329

Not that ‘economical’ is likely to be a word used in the Clooney household but we love the cheap and cheerful Joie Aire Double Stroller in pink and blue, RRP just £145.

The quintessentially English Silver Cross brand recently added the Wave system to their range, which offers 16 combinations of seats, carrycots and carseats. It comes in some super classy shades – we love the claret colourway. RRP £995 for the basic option.

Phil and Ted are so often the go-to for active parents wanting a buggy that they can yomp up a mountain with. The downside is always that one child goes underneath, which is fine when one child is older but possibly less democratic with twins.  (Pictured is the Verve, RRP £549)

Or for the seriously sporty, the Britax BOB Revolution SUS has rugged tyres and a fixed front wheel option for faster speeds; suitable for jogging or skating. It’s not light (that’ll be the state of the art suspension) but presumably Clooney won’t be having to haggle with Ryanair about weight allowance any time soon… (The model pictured is on offer through Amazon at £279)

Classic Chic Strollers

Anyone else noticed the vogue for ‘classic chic’ when it comes to strollers at the moment? Sure, the colour pops of the likes of Cosatto are fun – but we’re loving the retro, timeless elegance of these ones at the moment:

Silver Cross Sleepover: the brand new model from quintessentially English but super-hip Silver Cross has really vintage styling, but with modern technology (such as a bamboo liner) your little one will sleep like a dream and you can use the carrycot for overnight stays… We adore the Mulberry colourway too!

Mamas & Papas Urbo2 in Tweed – Desert: even the most reluctant Dad will want to take to the streets with this one (perhaps ’round the country estate?) Again, the lie flat position promotes healthy sleep and there’s an insect net to fend off flying beasties as well…

Bugaboo Buffalo Classic Collection: this much loved model launches a heritage collection next month, available in navy blue or grey melange. It’s the latest incarnation for parents who want to rule the urban jungle as well as amble home from the country pub.

This model celebrates fifteen years of Bugaboo’s innovative legacy – team this one with the leather Storksak changing bag for ultimate paired-down sophistication.
