Lovely Little Things: January Sales Picks

Things we really want right now at a snip of the price… Thank you January sales 🙂

Our pick of Sheepskin…

A good sheepskin rug is a multi-tasking hero for mums; use it as  a buggy liner, playmat – or just for a cosy nap… Good ones are machine washable (on a cool cycle) and hung out to dry (then fluff them up with a hairbrush).

As Autumn creeps in, sheepskin is a lovely addition to our wardrobes too.

A gilet such as this one from Pure Collection is a forever piece; super versatile over jeans and a tee or give a long dress a Boho feel…

Or choose a little sheepskin trim to keep feet stylish and warm – we love these stack heel boots from Celtic and Co.

BaaBaby from NotontheHighSt make beautiful baby puddy mittens – on strings so they don’t get lost and made to fit up to 15 months.

At just £5 a pair, these sheepskin insoles from baby and toddler footwear brand Bobux are a chilly weather must-have. Keep toes snuggly and little ones playing outside for longer.

Our pick of Knits for Wool week

Apparently Oct 5-11th is Wool Week (those with equally woolly pregnancy-brains can be forgiven for not knowing that!) and Friday 9th Oct is Woolly Hat Day.

Not that we need an excuse to cosy up in this weather but here is our pick of the chicest of the sheep.

Crafty types can knit their own beanie, with luxe alpaca and merino wool (plus the instructions) supplied by Celtic and co.

Or spoil a newborn with a pure wool blanket from Babyblooms, handwoven on antique looms…
How lovely are these hand-knitted Faroese sweaters from MamaOwl – oversized for years of outdoor play.
These colourful cashmere socks are on sale from MySocks… We love the vampy red with biker boots as an Autumnal colour pop.
Or embrace the ethnic folklore trend with this huge embroidered wool scarf from Charlotte’s Web at Notonthehighst.

Our pick of Organic Cotton tees

September is Organic Month and we think these tees – made from 100% organic cotton – are worth celebrating too!

Babyblooms transport gift set is an adorable way to welcome a new little man to the world. With matching leather padders for those first adventures.

Celtic and Co’s short sleeve tee has a super flattering dipped hem and decolletage skimming neckline. Available in a range of muted tones this is a great addition to your Autumn wardrobe.

Plain Lazy make slogan tees for the less-than-sporty, but they are so comfy you’d be forgiven for vegging out on the sofa. Dress your would be junior surf dude in a ‘Can’t Surf Yet’ tee and build sandcastles instead.

We adore the vibrant mustard stripes of Seasalt Cornwall’s breton tee. Great with jeans or dress up with a pencil skirt and wedge heels for a saucy sailor-girl look.

Our pick of transitional coats

One minute the skies are blue, the next there’s a month’s worth of rain catapulting down.

Here are our pick of ‘nearly Autumn but still a little bit Summer’ transitional outerwear pieces…

Celtic and Co’s hooded cardie is made with alpaca and linen and is a wearable version of the 70s kaftan trend that seems to be everywhere at the moment. With a big cosy hood to pull up in a shower (or on a bad hair day) and wide, drapey sleeves this one pulls over anything and doubles up as a stroller blankie or shade to boot!

Jungwon make wrinkle free, breathable rainwear and chic outerwear inspired by city life. With a huge range of colours and styles celebs such as Sam Smith have been rocking them at festivals…

The Boden Charlotte cape is a playful cover up with a really flattering collar – team it with a breton top and heels or over a dress – it comes in sensible black but we adore the striking pink and orange colourway.

Monsoon’s Jenna Print jacket is a lightweight cover up with a subtle colour pop. Looks fab over jeans and a plain tee, or give that maxi sundress a last wear of the season with this thrown over your shoulders.
