Our Mama Claus Xmas Mega Competition goes live today!

We’re super excited as this is the biggest competition we’ve ever run. One lucky winner will win a huge haul of fabulous prizes from some of our hero parenting brands. We’ll announce the winner on December 21st and the winner will have everything (plus a few extra surprises) delivered on Xmas Eve.

You can enter via Twitter or Instagram – or both. You’ll need to like one of the posts and follow the brands involved with the prize.

So – without further ado -let’s tell you what you could win…

(in no particular order)

Tiffany Rose Naomi nursing dress in black (prize item is size 10-12, this can be changed): at Slick Mummy Tiffany Rose was always our go-to for a ‘going out dress’ during pregnancy or nursing and the Naomi dress is so smart and sexy it will see you through those post preggo curves too…

aden + anais dream blanket in ‘Leader of the Pack’: this brand was our Editor’s Choice award in this year’s MMHA’s, supersoft muslin with ubiquitous designs, the dream blankets will be something your children will adore as babies, rely on as toddlers and treasure as big kids.

JuJuBe travel case in ‘Queen of the Nile’: washable, durable, practical but yet so itty-bitty gorgeous, we love the JuJuBe vibe (it’s so Reece Witherspoon, right?)

Kind Organic sanitary products: because, like – why wouldn’t you want them made from organic cotton…?

Organix Xmas Box: some of their hero products in a ‘delicious but good for you’ selection box.

Kit + Kin: (newborn size) nappies and breast balm from Emma Bunton’s new eco-friendly range. Perfect for tiny bums and sore boobs.

Skin Elixir Frankincense and May Chang Moisturiser: your skin versus Winter? This is your cloak of invincibility.

Yogabellies Baby Wrap in Slate: the UK’s premier perinatal brand’s wrap means comfortable, safe cuddles on the go!

Real Good Tomato Ketchup: if you have kids, you’ll know why we’ve included this one in our prize. Once they discover ketchup and it becomes an essential food group, if you can find a brand like this with minimal salt and calories that tastes the same you’ll inwardly whoop.

Sky Baby travel mattress: genius design to help facilitate taking a baby on a plane which is also simple, lightweight and portable.

MORI Xmas stocking: just adorable – organic cotton and stripey, it will be a talking point at baby’s first Xmas and go on to be a keepsake forever.

Halia Rose Elephant teether in ginger: durable, chewable and super soothing on tiny gums, this guy is a big hitter in the teething world.

Dandydill Way Bubble Bath: splash about in naturally scented hawthorn berry bath bubbles from celebrity make up artist Tanya Rodney’s new range.

Follow us on Twitter and Instagram @SlickMummy for more details on how to enter the comp. Winner will be announced on 21st December and prize will be delivered on Xmas Eve, no cash alternative. UK and Ireland only.

School Holiday Snack Time

If having your offspring home for the hols means constant clamouring for the biscuit tin or a desperate attempt to chop veg into geometric wonders, then check out our pick of fab, guilt free snack foods that we can guarantee will get scoffed without quibbles…

Punk’d Bars from Organix are so delicious that kids would honestly eat a multipack in one sitting given the chance. The bars come in Cocoa and Orange Crash or Strawberry and Vanilla Smash and being from Organix they have somehow managed to take oats, fruit and seeds and make them seem as indulgent as a large bit of cake followed by a white chocolate Magnum. They’ve gone really urban with the packaging too – which should keep sophisticated pre-teens happy – and you can buy online or from Amazon and Ocado.

The Collective (makers of super yummy yoghurt) have launched their Suckies range which consists of four flavours packaged in slurpable pouches which (unlike Frubes) don’t explode in your handbag…  If your kids actually need any more motivation than being able to suck their yoghurt then check out The Collective’s ‘win a zuped up bike’ competition online here

Ape Snacks are crunchy curls of coconut, lightly seasoned with salt or pepper. Since it’s water became Rihanna’s drink of choice, the coconut has escalated to being a ‘can’t live without’ addition to the fruitbowl and these crispy snacks are not only extremely moreish but they represent one of your five-a-day too. See here for stockists…

Kickstart #OrganicSeptember with some organic superfoods

September is Organic Month – not that we need an excuse – but it’s a good time to celebrate products that make eating organic even more heroic.

Lizi’s Granola: Lizi began cooking up her granola in the kitchen of her Welsh B&B and unlike most people’s attempts the result wasn’t something that resembled gravel and took fillings out when it was chewed. So popular was her breakfast that she went on to develop a huge range of delicious granola (much of it gluten free or low GL) including a fully certified organic variety. It is available in family sized packs or dinky little single servings – great for a handbag size refuel on the run. For stockists click here.

New range of Baby Biscuits from Organix: Mums love Organix for one simple reason; kids can’t get enough of ’em. So we were super excited to hear about the new range of baby biscuits, shaped in toddler friendly little ‘o’s and in delicious fruit or vanilla flavour options.

Miniscoff are purveyors of organic ready meals for kids, available at Ocado. With imagination-friendly names such as Treasure Island Chicken on Broccoli Bill’s Pie little ones will be forking in goodness with gusto.
